This 19" Rack-Mountable device is a multiplechannel100Base-TX/FX Media AccessConcentrator providing 16 (or 8) independentconversion channels housed in a slim 1U chassismaking it the highest density solution available.Each individual channel allows network extensionof up to 150km. It is transparent to HDX/FDXtransmissions. Furthermore, it generates "FDXadvertising" signals to force maximal performanceon other - even non managed - network elements,thus enhancing overall network performance.The device is SNMP ready; it is supplied with themanagement interface included in it. It may beordered with or without the optional FNM1613management module or such may be insertedlater on in the field. The Selective Fault Propagation feature willdisconnect the TP ports (connected to the switch/router) once a FO link failure is detected, totrigger initiation of a redundant path and viceversa. This function may be disabled formaintenance or other purposes by the "Link Test"switch and via management. The revolutionarySLE (Subscriber Link Emulation) will disconnecta TP port when a failure of the subscriberconnected to the remote (MA enabled) deviceis detected - without affecting the F/O link.The FEF (Far End Fault signaling) compatibilityprovides a true indication of the fibre link integrity.Special attention is given to easy installation andmaintenance: redundant power-supplies(F.CON16), directly removable (hot-swap) powersupplies,extensive front-panel diagnostics andmore. The TP ports feature Auto-Cross to avoidneed for crossed patch-cords. The F.CON16/MA is MA™ enabled: a remoteMA™ enabled unit will be fully controlled by theF.CON16/MA, without the need of an SNMPagent or IP address allocation at the remote unit.If the remote device is not MA enabled, theF.CON16/MA automatically falls-back to normalM/C function. |
