This 19" Rack-Mountable device is a multiplechannel100Base-TX/FX Media Converterproviding 6 or 12 independent conversionchannels housed in a slim 1U chassis. Eachindividual channel allows network extensionover m/m fibre of 2000m (6600ft), and up to150 km (!) over s/m fibres. It is transparent toHDX/FDX transmissions. Furthermore, it generates"FDX advertising" signals to force maximalperformance on other - even non managed -network elements, thus enhancing overallnetwork performance. The device is SNMP ready;it is supplied with the management interfaceincluded in it. All you need to turn it into a fullymanaged device is to plug-in the optionalFNM1612 management module. This can be done in the field, even withoutremoving the F.CON from the rack.The Fault Propagation mechanism implementedin the device allows network redundancy whilethe link test capability allows easy maintenance. Special attention was given to allow easyinstallation and maintenance: redundant powersupply,directly removable (hot-swap) powersupply,extensive front-panel diagnostics andmore. It is factory pre-configured and severalF.CON devices can be mixed and stacked toachieve the exact number of channels requiredwhile occupying minimal rack-space. |
