The FNM1612 is an optional SNMP agent that plugs into FibroLAN's fixed multi-channel Media Conversion series: F.CON6xx, F.CON12xx. CTF6/Mxx and CTF12/Mxx. These devices are management ready and include all management interfaces: RJ-45 connector for network connection, RS-232 interface for system setup and s/w upgrades and 3 LEDs to indicate the status and activity of the management module. Upon installation of the FNM1612 management module, the device becomes fully managed. This can be done in the field, without removing the device from the rack (or shipped preinstalled if ordered so). This module allows to SNMP manage the F.CON6/12 and CTF/M series converters remotely from any management station running any popular SNMP management platform available (e.g. HP Openview, SNMPc etc.). Once installed in a device it automatically identifies the model type and after setting the necessary system parameters is ready for operation. The module supports MIB II (RFC1213 and RFC1215) and FibroLAN's private MIBs. |
