The LTA41/MA is an In-Band managed trafficaggregation device allowing four TP local usersto share a single fibre link thus saving up to 75%on active and passive network infrastructure.Ideal Applications are FTTD (Fibre To The Desk)where several users occupy an office and FTTH(Fibre To The Home) where several subscribersmay be located in same multi-tenant buildingor even on the same floor. The device utilizesBMD (Buffered Media Domain) technology toallow connection of a variety of local users (PCs,hubs, switches, 10, 100Mbps etc) without theneed to qualify the network or perform PDVcalculations prior to the deployment of the F/Olink. This is a real asset in FTTH networks as usersare widely dispersed and have a large andunpredicted variety of equipment. The BMD along with VLANs implemented in thedevice provide a physical level of security andseparation between the users as they allow onlytraffic between each user and the F/O link,blocking traffic between users.
