Product SummaryRAD's FLM-1 time division multiplexer and FLM-2 time division multiplexer enable up to 12 asynchronous terminals to be multiplexed onto a single cable for point-to-point applications. The user can select to operate the units with 12 channels, or six channels with higher performance. In addition, the FLM-2 time division multiplexer can operate three out of 12 terminals in synchronous mode using the selectable clock supplied by the multiplexer. Both units have a built-in modem that drives the high speed multiplexed data over fibre optic or twisted pair cable. Benefits• Reduce the number of cables need to transport data, lowering operating costs • Immune to EMI/RFI, ground loops and lightning • Transparent to character structure Further Product InformationMultiplexes 12 asynchronous terminals onto a single cableThe FLMs multiplex 12 independent signals. They can be used to concentrate six channels of data and one control signal for each, or 12 channels of data only. Optional synchronous modeIn the FLM-2, three of the 12 subchannels can operate in synchronous mode using the device's clock. Each subchannel's operating bit rate is selectable, independent of the other subchannels. The transmit clock can be:- sourced internally- sourced externally- slaved to the receive clock Local and remote digital loopback capabilities, provided through front panel switches and LEDs, enable diagnostic tests. Indicators are located on the front panel for Power, Test, Local Sync Loss, and Remote Sync Loss. The multiplexers have 12 RS-232/V.24 interfaces available via six D-type 25-pin female connectors or 12 RJ-45 connectors. The FLM-1 and FLM-2 are standalone units, with optional mounting hardware for a 19" rack.
