The H-RPT extends the range of E1 HDSL products from 4.8 km (3 miles) to 9 km (5.6 miles). This extension enables carriers to provide services to customers located beyond the range of the standard Local Loop. The H-RPT repeater works opposite the HTU-E1, HTU-2 and HCD-E1.The H-RPT uses HDSL technology to extend transmission ranges, complying with the ETSI standard for HDSL. The device utilizes 2B1Q line coding, equalization, adaptive filtering and echo cancellation to support transmission even over mixed gauge cables with crosstalk and noise, and over links with bridge taps. It also enables transmission of multiple HDSL links over multipair cables.SNMP management is available and allows the user to perform diagnostics, monitoring and loopback testing. The H-RPT operates over two-pair (4-wire) cables. In cases where one of the pairs fails, the H-RPT will continue sending information on the other pair. The H-RPT comes in an all-weather case for outdoor installation. Its compact size makes it suitable for installation in communication shafts or other space-sensitive environments. The H-RPT receives remote power feeding from the central location. The power is derived from a standalone power supply (LRS-PS-FEED) that is connected to the LRS-24 central hub or from a standalone HDSL modem. The power is distributed through the LRS cards into the 4-wire links and up to the H-RPT devices. Each card can remote power feed one H-RPT unit.
