The U-RPT doubles the range of IDSL modems from 7 km (4.4 miles) to 14 km (8.8 miles). This extension enables carriers and service providers to deliver services to customers located beyond the standard range of the Local Loop.The U-RPT works opposite RAD's IDSL products: ASMi-31-2, HSU card for the Megaplex, and D8U and D16U modules for the DXC.The U-RPT uses IDSL technology and complies with the ANSI standard. It is based on 2B1Q coding, equalization and echo cancellation to support transmission over low quality lines with mixed gauge cables and bridge taps.The U-RPT can be powered remotely via the NT interface of the U-RPT and can send power to the LT interface. It is also possible to power the U-RPT from a local external power supply.The U-RPT comes in a weather-proof case for outdoor installation. It operates over an extended temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
