Card version for LRS-24 with SNMP management
The MTMi-20 is a medium range, 4-wire synchronous modem operating over unconditioned data communication wires. The modem operates at data rates of 32, 64 and 128 kbps. The MTMi-20 uses QAM modulation and an adaptive equalizer to achieve medium range, high performance transmission, even over low quality lines. An out-of-band management channel provides monitoring and control of local and remote units. In tail-end applications, the MTMi-20 automatically detects the external clock rate and is locked accordingly. It also updates the remote unit clock rate via the management channel. This enables both local and remote units to follow the network clock rate. The MTMi-20 is usually used in rural environments, where geographical conditions enforce long ranges between the users and the carrier point-of-presence. The MTMi-20 can be used as a bandwidth compressor for radio applications. The narrow bandwidth required to pass the data transmission can increase radio bandwidth utilization. Several digital interface options are available: V.24/RS-232, V.35, X.21, RS-530, V.36/RS-449, built-in Ethernet bridge and G.703 codirectional. The MTMi-20 is available as a standalone unit with a front panel LCD, or with a blank panel with a portable control unit (PCU) connection to prevent unauthorized operation. A card version is available for the LRS-24 with SNMP management.
