  • Transmits TDM-based services over packet switched networks (Ethernet, IP or MPLS)
  • IPmux-11 provides single E1 or T1 TDM user port
  • IPmux-1E provides analog, ISDN BRI and E1/T1 user ports with echo cancellation
  • Wire speed bridging of user LAN traffic to the packet-switched network
  • Fibre and copper Fast Ethernet uplink interfaces
  • QoS support
  • Centralized SNMP-based management

IPmux-11, IPmux-1E

Product Summary

RAD's IPmux-11 TDM pseudowire gateway and IPmux-1E TDM pseudowire gateway are customer located equipment (CLE), which extend TDM-based services over IP, Ethernet and MPLS networks. In addition, the IPmux-1E pseudowire gateway transports ISDN BRI and FXS/FXO/E&M services over IP and Ethernet-based networks. Echo cancellation improves voice quality in applications with large delays, such as satellite transmissions. Both devices enable wire-speed bridging between the user LAN and the Ethernet WAN. Using TDM pseudowire technology, carriers have widely deployed the IPmux-11 and IPmux-1E to provide revenue-generating leased lines services over packet-switched networks.

Benefits

• Eliminates point-to-point E1/T1 leased lines • Low latency meets QoS requirements • Supports legacy PBX, including proprietary features and signaling • Leased lines, cellular backhaul, and international toll bypass can be run over the PSN

Further Product Information

RAD's IPmux-11 and IPmux-1E gateways are designed to meet the requirements of small customer premises sites. They reduce operating expenses by delivering virtually all TDM, data and LAN services over IP/Ethernet/MPLS networks, while ensuring strict priority for the TDMoIP traffic over the network link. End users continue to receive all familiar services, while carriers and service providers maintain revenues from legacy services. The compact size, ease of installation and support for multiple legacy and next generation Ethernet and IP-based services make these devices ideal for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Compact TDMoIP customer premises gateways

IPmux-11 and IPmux-1E answer the growing need of business customers for transparent LAN services (TLS) such as LAN-to-LAN interconnection and Ethernet connectivity to service providers. Enhanced features, such as user LAN port rate limiting, enable adapting the total bandwidth transmitted to the limitation of the transport media. VLAN stacking allows the encapsulation of multiple locally used VLANs over a single network media for efficient network engineering.

Ethernet access

Both TDMoIP gateways can provide any user device with standard E1/T1 interface circuit extension over PSN. The IPmux-1E also offers connectivity for four ISDN S0 channels or four analog voice channels, with optional near-end echo cancellation (up to a full E1/T1) for cases where a large end-to-end delay causes echos, such as in satellite applications. Both devices support alarm detection and insertion along with error statistics, SES/UAS statistics, LOS/AIS physical layer alarms, and remote/Local Loop tests. The devices support standard E1/T1 alarms from end-to-end.

TDM circuit extension

IPmux-11 is equipped with the following interfaces: • One standard E1/T1 user port • Two Ethernet ports with optional 10/100BaseT or 100BaseFX interface serve as network uplinks or user ports • One Ethernet user port with 10/100BaseT interface for LAN connectivity • Optional external clock port (E1/T1 rate) option IPmux-1E is equipped with the following interfaces: • TDM user port options: - Single standard E1/T1 port with echo canceller - Four analog (FXS/FXO/E&M) ports with optional echo canceller - Four ISDN S0 ports • One Ethernet uplink with 10/100BaseT or 100BaseFX interface • Optional Ethernet user port with 10/100BaseT interface for LAN connectivity
