Product SummaryRAD's MiRIC-E1/T1, MiRIC-E3/T3 and MiRIC-530 are small form factor pluggable (SFP) remote bridges that connect Fast Ethernet LANs over framed or unframed E1/T1, E3/T3 circuits and RS-530 links. Delivering a complete Ethernet over PDH solution in standard, finger-sized SFP enclosures, these units increase overall network flexibility and reduce capital expenditures (CapEx), by enabling quick and easy rollout of new Ethernet services over legacy TDM infrastructure, without the need for costly standalone devices. Plugged into any installed router or switch with an SFP-compatible 100BaseFX Ethernet port, the innovative MiRIC-E1/T1, MiRIC-E3/T3 and MiRIC-530 provide an ideal solution for carriers, private organizations and campus networks in delivering transparent LAN services over leased lines and for enabling remote Ethernet connectivity over E1/T1 and E3/T3 radio links. Benefits• Cost-effective alternatives to standalone units or conversion cards• Reduce operating expenses by eliminating the need to certify and integrate new equipment, or to train operators • Simplify installation with autonomous operation• Increase network flexibility by allowing quick, ad-hoc installations• Support a scalable migration to fibre Ethernet access by offering an economical interim solution• Interoperable with third-party, MSA (Multi-Source Agreement)-compliant routers and switches Further Product InformationFast Ethernet over TDM-based WANsThe innovative SFP-format MiRIC-E1/T1, MiRIC-E3/T3 and MiRIC-530 remote bridges connect Fast Ethernet LANs over framed or unframed E1/T1, E3/T3 circuits as well as an RS-530 link. Plugged into any installed router or switch with an SFP-compatible 100BaseFX Ethernet port, they deliver a complete Fast Ethernet over PDH solution in standard, finger-sized SFP enclosures. Such approach increases overall network flexibility and reduces capital expenditures (CapEx), by enabling quick and easy rollout of new Ethernet services over legacy TDM infrastructure, without the need for costly standalone devices. Allowing service providers to adapt network interfaces as needed, the MiRIC E1/T1, MiRIC-E3/T3 and MiRIC-530 are ideal for delivering transparent LAN services and providing remote branch connectivity over leased lines and TDM-based WANs, for service providers, private enterprise and campus networks. Drawing power from the host device, they require no external power sources and offer a cost-effective alternative to external, standalone bridge units or conversion cards. No software configuration neededRAD's remote SFP bridges operate autonomously without any need for software configuration. They are hot swappable and feature a special release mechanism for easy extraction from the SFP socket. Basic management is performed over the I2C interface and includes configuration, status and monitoring. To avoid overwhelming the WAN port, a flow control mechanism is activated if Fast Ethernet traffic exceeds the TDM port's capacity, sending Pause packets towards the LAN side. MiRIC-E1/T1, MiRIC-E3/T3 and MiRIC-530 support Multi-source Agreement (MSA) product identification codes and can operate opposite their respective MiRICs, installed on remote equipment. Alternatively, they connect to other MSA compliant devices, such as RAD's RICi-E1, RICi-T1, RICi-E3, and RICi-T3 Fast Ethernet over E1/T1 and E3/T3 NTUs (Network Termination Units), as well as to RAD's Egate channelized Ethernet gateways. Providing transparent LAN services over E1/T1 and E3/T3 leased lines
