Product SummaryThe ASMi-54 G.SHDSL.bis modem and multiplexer transmits combined data streams over a bonded SHDSL copper link, achieving variable data rates from 5.7 Mbps over two copper wires to 20 Mbps over eight copper wires. The ASMi-54 incorporates TC-PAM 16 and TC-PAM 32 line coding technology, extending the transmission range and enabling carriers to reach more customers at extended distances. The ASMi-54 G.SHDSL.bis modem supports a variety of applications, ranging from point-to-point Ethernet over copper service extension to complex multiservice multiplexing for E1/T1, Ethernet and serial data over copper. The ASMi-54 is an ideal solution for any application requiring high data rate transmission, copper bonding capabilities and daisy chain topology. Benefits• Operates over 2-wire, 4-wire and 8-wire lines, supporting high data rates over any copper infrastructure• Compatible with SHDSL repeaters, enabling long distance applications• Utilizes TC-PAM line coding for extending the operation range to 9.5 km (5.9 miles) without repeaters• Provides extensive diagnostics, including loopbacks, G.SHDSL and E1/T1 performance monitoring• End-to-end management and supervision ensures QoS · Reliable performance over poor quality or noisy lines• Automatic configuration allows plug and play installation Further Product InformationFast data rate over copperThe ASMi-54 G.SHDSL.bis modem is a simple and cost-effective, dedicated managed device for extending the range of high speed services over existing copper pairs. Using TC-PAM 16 or TC-PAM 32 line coding SHDSL.bis technology, the ASMi-54 G.SHDSL.bis modem can operate in full duplex mode over 2-wire, 4-wire or 8-wire lines, achieving variable data rates up to 5.7 Mbps over 2-wire and up to 20 Mbps over 8-wire. Supports Ethernet service extension and multiservice multiplexingThe ASMi-54 G.SHDSL.bis modem supports a variety of applications. These range from point-to-point Ethernet service extension up to 20 Mbps using bonding technology, to complex multiservice multiplexing for E1/T1, Ethernet and serial data. Monitoring, control and diagnostics of local and remote units are available via a supervisory port. The ASMi-54 G.SHDSL.bis modem supports both quality of service (QoS) priority queues according to 802.1p and IP Precedence, enabling users to define different levels of QoS according to the application requirements. The ASMi-54 G.SHDSL.bis modem can be ordered with a multiplexing capability. This version has three user ports. It can transmit combinations of E1/T1, V.35/X.21, 10/100BaseT, and 4 x 10/100BaseT with integrated switching together over a single SHDSL link at a maximum data rate of 5.7 Mbps. The management connection to the standalone unit is via:• RS-232 craft port, virtual terminal, in-band, and OOB Ethernet port• Local terminal, Telnet server, SNMP (V3), Web server (ConfiguRAD)• In-band and out-of-band management with or without dedicated management VLAN.
