The built-in VPN IPSec server/client utilizes a 3DES encryption algorithm and up to 10 tunnels per device, creating transparent connectivity of enterprise LANs into a single, virtual one. A BRI backup line to the telecommunications provider switches all phone calls to regular telephony via the PSTN in the event of a connectivity failure. The BRI VoIP CPE is compatible with most IDSN PBXs, generating Q.931 signaling and providing supplementary services such as Time, DDI (Direct Dialing Inward), MSN (Multiple Subscriber Numbering), CLIR (Caller-ID) Restriction, CLIP (Caller-ID Presentation), and AOC (Advice of Charge). The AOC service enables organizations and vertical markets such as hotels and hospitals to provide billing information to customers while using existing PBXs. The IPVgate-20B BRI VoIP CPE employs dynamic bandwidth allocation using voice activity detection and silence suppression. Its multi-layer Quality of Service (QoS) ensures call integrity.
